On, August 10, 2017, at age 46, we lost a fantastic human being. Kenneth Owen Bohannan passed into God’s hands to help God in His Kingdom. He was a loving husband, great father, special brother, and an awesome son. He was friends with most everyone he met. If you ever had a chance to meet him, you would remember his smile, laughter, and all around great personality. His faith in God never faulted, even while fighting an awful disease that finally took his life. Those of us that knew Ken will never forget him. Ken is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Laurie Bohannan, two children, Logan and Katelyn, father, Raymond Bohannan, his mother, Joy Bohannan, his sister, Melissa B. Rodriguez, his aunt, Linda B. Dawson, and great aunt, Lois K. Bohannan. He also held near and dear to his heart his father-in-law, Michael J. Tavano and mother-in-law, Sonia R. Tavano. He was an avid boater and fisherman, and a college football enthusiast with Notre Dame being his #1 team. He was a fan of other sports as well. Ken also loved to cook and he was very good at it. He loved his family with all of his heart and soul! He enjoyed watching his son’s football and basketball games, at the local rec and throughout high school, and cheered him on with great enthusiasm. Their bond was further strengthened as Logan grew into a young man. He was very proud of his daughter’s scholastic achievements in school and adored her creative mind and spirit. He spent countless hours listening to her talk of things she would invent and education she would pursue. They made a lasting memory together when he escorted her to her recent father-daughter dance this last school year. His life dream was to own a business and become successful. With technical training in the USAF, combined with training and graduation from Marine Mechanics Institute in Daytona, FL., he started a small mobile marine company called “Fluid Marine”. Through several years of hard work, this developed into North Courtenay Boat Center aka North Courtenay Repower Center. During this time, he made many customers happy and made many friendships along the way.
