Kenneth Nehring, 83 of DuBois, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2016 at SSM Health St. Marys Hospital in Centralia.
He was born March 19, 1933 in Du Bois, son of Frank Nehring and Louise (Kurtz) Nehring. He married Dorothy Czerwinski on July 12, 1954 and she preceded him in death on July 22, 2012.
Kenneth is survived by a daughter-in-law, Cathy Nehring of Centralia; three grandchildren: Correy Sue McDaniel and husband Josh of Irvington and Kenny Nehring and wife Tempest of Centralia, and Mike Nicholson and wife Suezy of Centralia; a great granddaughter, Harley Nehring of Centralia; a son-in-law, Bill Jeffers of Centralia; three brothers-in-law: Paul Czerwinski and wife Janet of Mt. Vernon and Vick Czerwinski and wife Linda of Centralia, and George Spotanski, Jr. of Scheller. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son: Mark “Rughead” Nehring, a daughter: Marilyn Jeffers, and a sister: Darlene Storment.
Kenneth worked as a Heavy Machine Operator for Bridges Construction for 20 years, worked as a Coal Miner for 20 years, and he farmed all of his life. He enjoyed deer hunting with his son and grandson, mushroom hunting, coon hunting with his friends, and fishing. He was a Board Member of the Zion Evangelical Church of Christ in Du Bois. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family and friends.
