1952 was a very special year in that Hemingway published his famous book The Old Man and the Sea and a baby was born on September 18, 1952 who would come to love the ocean and spend many happy days cruising on it. Kenneth Michael Burke, known to all as Mike, was born to the late Thomas Jefferson and Dura Pearl Langley Burke. In addition to his parents, Mike was predeceased by his siblings Susan Jones, Dianne Fuss and Billy Burke. Mike developed a life-long love of music early on in his life. It was a great avocation for him and he loved being the center of attention when he would sing and play guitar in venues in Newnan. He had a special love for southern gospel music. He was a very detail-oriented person by nature and enjoyed his profession as a CAD engineer. Surviving Mike is his sister Lenda Savenelli and her husband Danny. He shared a special bond with his brother Billy who passed away recently. He cherished his family ties to Billy’s wife Flo and his nephews Christopher and Dustin Burke.
