Kenneth (Kenny) Joseph Montoya Sr., 55, Westminster, passed away at 07:21 a.m., Wednesday, February 26, 2020 from unexpected health complications in Westminster, Colorado.
Kenny was born January 22, 1965 in Denver, Colorado to John and Ramona Montoya (Venzor) and was a lifelong resident of Colorado. He graduated from Brighton High School in 1983 and went on to attend the University of Northern Colorado. Ken joined the family business where he helped to manage and grow La Estrellita Restaurants in Brighton, Boulder, and Westminster.
He is survived by his wife and sons, Sheri, Kenny Jr. and Alex; his father and step-mother, John Sr. and Becky Montoya; in-laws Ronald and Deanne Gerber; two brothers, John Montoya Jr. and wife Elisabeth and Steve Montoya and wife Stephanie; his sister, Gina Von Ah and husband Tim; sister-in-laws Michelle Smith, Brenda Pothoff and husband Brett, Paula Fisk and husband Michael; brother-in-law John Gerber and wife Lois; nine nephews, Mathew, Mason, Justin, Tyler, Anthony, Hayden, Campbell, Cooper, and Jerad, 11 nieces, Shanice, Hannah, Maura, Emma, Kenna, Hannah, Jessica, Elizabeth, Anna, Katie, and Danielle and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Ramona Venzor; grandparents, Salome and Stella Montoya, Jose and Maura Martinez.
