Mr. Kenneth Jerome “Jerry” Holt, 66, a resident of Collinsville, AL and a former resident of Chambers County, AL passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Birmingham, AL after a brief illness.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Fay Holt; children, Cassie Holt (Steven) of Beulah, AL; Jamie McCarty (Justin) of Helena, AL; Scott Holt (Angela); grandchildren, Isaiah, Aaliyah & Ezra McCarty; siblings, Carol Smith (Kenneth) of Cusseta, AL; Barbara Caldwell (Fred) of Valley; Mickey Holt (Linda) of Beulah; brother-in-law, David Blanks; and a number of nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Forrest & Ruth Holt; siblings, Joyce Hadaway, George “Dennie” Holt and Mary Jane Blanks.
Mr. Holt was born in Beulah, AL and attended Beulah High School and Opelika Technical School. He was a loving husband, father, brother, and Papa. He loved to fish and to be with his family, especially his precious grandchildren whom he loved so much. He was a member of Pine Grove Church in Lee County. He was the original owner and operator of Holt Fire and Safety for a number of years. He retired as the manager of the Chamber County Lake this year and moved to his dream place in Collinsville, AL. He had served in the US Army and was a Vietnam Veteran.
