Ken Cummings of Pine City passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at the Welia Health in Mora at the age of 79.
Kenneth Glen Cummings was born September 12, 1943 to Walter and Elsie (Holmstrom) Cummings in Superior, Wisconsin, the oldest of six children. He attended schools in Brook Park and Pine City.
In 1960, at the age of 17 with permission from his parents Ken enlisted in the United States Marines. In 1965, upon returning from his service in the U.S. Marines he obtained his high school diploma. Ken attended Pine Technical Institute and received a certificate in welding, and in 1977, attended the Veterans Farm Management program.
In September of 1966, Ken married Loretta Wiberg, they had three sons; William, Sheldon and Shawn. Years later they divorced.
Ken is survived by his children William Cummings, Sheldon (Alicia) Cummings, Shawn (Nicole) Cummings; grandchildren Cassandra, Sara, Jessica, Casey, Shelby, Bethany; many great-grandchildren; brothers Alvin Cummings, Curt (Theresa) Cummings; sister Susan (Ed) Wilde; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Elsie Cummings; brothers Gareth Cummings Sr., Charles Cummings; brother-in-law Donald Bock; sister-in-law Gin Cummings.
