Kenneth Eugene Quick of Meridian, Idaho, and a former Moscow resident, died January 30, 2015. He was 83. Ken was born October 12, 1931 at Claremore, Oklahoma to August K. and Opal B. Nelson Quick. He grew up, attended school and graduated from high school there in 1949. He then enrolled at Oklahoma State University before joining the U.S. Navy and traveled to Hawaii, Hong Kong, Japan and the Philippines. Following his discharge in 1954, he continued his education, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry in 1960. He and Jane Watson were married on March 27, 1959 at Grove, OK. Ken’s degree led him to work for the US Government for 30 years, retiring in 1983. That year he went to work for the University of Idaho as supervisor of the University’s Forest Nursery.
