Kenneth Bernard Colebank, 81, of Lexington, KY, formerly of Colebank, WV, passed away January 13, 2011 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Lexington Ky. Ken was born July 10, 1929 in Colebank W.Va. He is the son of the late Patrick Sylvester Colebank and Lora Hester (White) Colebank. He graduated from Fellowsville H.S in 1947 and joined the Air Force a week after graduation. He served 3 years in the U.S. Air Force in Japan as a radar observer. After this tour of duty, he enlisted in the US Army where he served another six years. He served as a paratrooper in the Korean War where he made some 24 jumps. After the war he was reassigned as a ROTC instructor at Miami University where he finished his military and attended college in his spare time.
