Kenneth was taken to heaven by his savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at his home.

Kenneth was born July 11, 1926 to Adam and Amelia (Horst) Bauer in rural Pierce, Nebraska. He attended rural school in Pierce and graduated from Battle Creek High School in 1944. He was baptized on August 1, 1926 and confirmed on May 5, 1940.

Kenneth married LaVilla Nichols on August 11, 1946 at Christ Lutheran Church in Norfolk. LaVilla passed away on March 1, 1993.

Kenneth married Tillie (McNall) Housel on November 26, 1994 at St. John Lutheran Church in Battle Creek.

He was a past member of the John Deere Two Cylinders Club, Lutheran Laymen’s League, Lions Club, St. Peter (Heights). He was current member of St. John Lutheran Church having served as a church trustee, elder, and usher.

Kenneth loved the Lord, his family, farming, and gardening. Kenneth and Tillie took several trips and bus tours and spent the last several winters in Texas.

Kenneth is survived by his wife Tillie, daughters Pam (Jim) Mark , Jan (Mike) Smith, Donna (Lindsay) Michalski, step-children Dr. Glenda ( Dr. Marty) Weiler, James (Cindy) Housel, Heidi (Jeff) Huey, grandchildren Ronda (Matt) Bruggeman, Jayme (Jeff) Krueger, Ken Smith, Jeff (Cris) Smith, Craig Smith, Shane (Amy) Werner, Trevor Werner, Dr. Brett (Kelli) Werner, step – grandchildren Michelle (Brian) McGeogh, James Weiler, Jaime, Christopher and David Housel, 13 great – grandchildren, 4 step great-grandchildren, brothers Lyle (Evelyn) Bauer – Aransas Pass, TX and Clark (Nancy) Bauer – Lincoln, NE., and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his first wife LaVilla, parents, brother Delbert Bauer and twin sister Jeanette Schlender.
