Kenneth Albert “Buzzy” Bair, 91, of Taneytown, Maryland died Sunday, December 29, 2013 at Lookabout Manor in Westminster. Born November 27, 1922 near Union Bridge, he was the son of the late Clinton and Emma Hahn Bair. He was the husband of the late Katherine Nusbaum Bair, to whom he was married for 59 years.
Kenneth was the owner and operator of Bair Groceries in Taneytown for more than 30 years. He was a member of Mt. Union Lutheran Church on Middleburg Rd. He was a veteran of the United States Army and an Honorary Life Member of the Hesson Snyder American Legion Post 120 in Taneytown. He was past master of Monocacy Masonic Lodge No. 203 where he was a member for more than 50 years. He was also a member of the Western Maryland Shrine Club and the Loyal Order of the Moose. He enjoyed tending his store and many properties.
Surviving are daughter, Jacqueline Wachter and husband Wayne of Keymar; son, Terry Bair of Taneytown; daughter, Sherry Barnhart and husband Ralph of Westminster; sisters-in-law, Anna Bair of Westminster, and Alma Bair of Taneytown; grandchildren, Jeffrey Wachter and wife Beth of New Windsor, Gwen Ruskey and husband David of Taneytown, Tonya Barnhart of Hanover, PA, and Amanda Barnhart of Westminster; great-granddaughters, Summer and Autumn Ruskey; great-great-granddaughter, Adria Wachter; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sister, Eva “Peg” Angell, and brothers, Edgar “Jake,” Elvin, and Ralph “Bud” Bair.
