Kenneth A. “Salty” Martin, 91, of Quakertown, peacefully went to be with his Lord on June 12, 2018. Born in Quakertown, he was the son of the late Wilmer A. and Elsie (George) Martin. He was the husband of Kay C. (Hartmann) Martin with whom he shared 71 years of marriage. Ken was a WWII Veteran, being drafted into the U.S. Army during his senior year of high school. He was excused from his final semester and began active duty in February 1945. He served as Corporal, Battery B, 906th Field Artillery Battalion, stationed in Japan. Ken worked for the U.S. Gauge, Division of Ametek, Inc., Sellersville in the experimental department before changing his career to real estate sales. Together, Ken and Kay founded Martin Real Estate, managing the business for 25 years. His musical talents allowed him to play drums with the Merry Music Makers. He also provided entertainment to family, friends, churches through his self-taught ability on the harmonica, as well as accompanying the Gospel musical group, Harmenaires. Ken was a member of New Ebenezer Reformed Church. His sense of humor was enjoyed by family and friends. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Kenneth W. Martin and wife Lois of Quakertown; daughter Lynn wife of Jeffrey Geesaman of Quakertown; grandchildren: Joe Martin and wife Amy, Cindy wife of Chris Spear, Melissa wife of William Tomlinson, Jacqui wife of James McKeone, Keith Martin and wife Nicole, Brent Geesaman and wife Emily; great-grandchildren: Abe Martin, Addie Martin, Brooklyn Spear, Alex Spear, Ethan Tomlinson, Holden Tomlinson, Emma Tomlinson, Garrett McKeone, McKinlee McKeone, Charlotte Geesaman, and Everett Geesaman; and daughter-in-law, Linda martin of Quakertown.. He was pre-deceased by a son, Gary L. Martin in 2006.
