Kelly Layne Jacobs, 51, of Jacksonville, IL died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2021, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
She was born December 6, 1969, in Jacksonville, the daughter of Charles “Butch” and Laura Grey Wood. She married Kip Jacobs April 18, 1992, and he survivesShe is also survived by the greatest joys of her life, her three sons, Kai, of Jacksonville, Kip (wife Alexis) of Bement, IL, and Kole of Jacksonville. In addition, she is survived by her parents, and her sisters Lisa Shelton of White Hall, Marcy (husband John) Patterson, and one brother Charles “Butchie” Wood; and several aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Kelly graduated from Routt High School. She stayed at home with her boys for many years, providing them unconditional love and support as they made their way to become adults. Later she worked for Jacksonville School District #117 before working with her dad, as the bright smile that greeted you behind the bar at Charlie’s 19th Hole at the Links Golf Course.
