Mrs. Kelly Diane Sappington, 58, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at 8:09 pm, following an extended illness.
She was born October 13, 1962 in Amarillo, TX to the late Pat and Diana (Dobbins) Barrick. On Christmas Eve 2000, she married Terrence “Terry” Sappington in Elkhart. He survives at home after just 47 days shy of a 20 year beautiful marriage.
Also surviving are her children Samantha (Kyle) Humbert, Alison (Angie) Pippenger, Alix Sappington and Carson Sappington; siblings Lenny Reed, Shana (Brad) Fryer and Stacy (Hen) Rife, Linda Tarkington and Robert Evans; special niece and nephew Casey (Preston) McReynolds and Chad (Amanda) Fryer; her step-father Curt Reed (who raised her along with Diana) and a host of loving extended family, friends and business associates.
Kelly moved around quite a bit in her youth but wound up settling down in Cassopolis, MI, where she graduated in 1981. She started her business career at a local G.L. Perry variety store and went on to become an independent small business owner (Katsix, LLC) as well as being affiliated with one of the country’s leading software consulting firms, DeRosa Mangold of Waco, Texas.
