November 6, 1956 – January 29, 2020On this day we lost a beautiful soul, wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and sister.Kelly was a pillar of strength in the community, a lighthouse for the lost, a soother of the soul. No matter what came down her path she would always come back with “GOD will provide”. Her spiritual strength, her deeds and life choices which influenced others are what lives on and will be remembered. Kelly provided a safe haven for all of our children’s friends when they need a place to go for warmth, food and advice. Kelly was an artist extraordinaire. Everywhere, in our home and the homes of others, is a remembrance of her as she made creations from all media such as charcoal sketches, oil, pastel, and water color paintings. There are wood carvings, waterfall creations made from creek stone; natural stones such as turquoise, magnetite, tiger’s eye, other natural stones and hot glue. There is so much more; too many than can be mentioned. She lives on by leaving us these items and the memories she created throughout her life. Kelly is preceded in death by her grandparents Rev. S. D. Organ (Pauline), Charles C. Carey (Eva) and Parents Raymond and Ginger Carey of Nashville, TN. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Thomas R. Rainey of Hermitage, her sister Dana S. Carey of Goodlettsville and her children Donovan (Bo) Harris, Amanda Rainey, Dana Rainey (Charlie Hunt) and Aaron Rainey, her grandchildren Keri Hunt, McKayla Hunt, Christian Harris, and Rachel Harris, and her extended family Christian Chambliss and Star Dale and their mother Deidre Dale. The family would like to thank Alive Hospice for all of their help, support and kindness during this time.
