Arizona lost one of its most precious gems on June 26th . Kellie Velde, our free spirted and true lady, made it her life’s mission to be a friend to all who needed one.
She was especially drawn to help those who were struggling, and gave a sense of belonging to those who never quite fit in. As a nurse for more than a decade, she demonstrated true compassion and was a strong voice for all her patients and staff. She was an inspiration to those in the nursing community and touched countless lives, often caring more for others than herself. Kellie was born in Germany and attended Blue Ridge High School in Pinetop-Lakeside.
She received her nursing degree and spent the majority of her nursing career in hospice care at Olivia White Hospice Home. She was energized by family camping trips to Lake Powell, crochet art, lively conversation, and had an affinity for tattoos and piercings. Kellie was an exceptional mother who sought opportunities to connect with her children Nathan and Aiden. She was a devoted wife and deeply in love with her husband, Brian.
She is survived by her parents David (Debbi) Berger, Victoria (Rodney) Collins, Sister Carrie Wenger, Grandmother Linda Cox, two aunts, four cousins and numerous friends and extended family.
