Kelby Keith Mansfield, 70, of C.R. 22, died at 12:22 p.m. Thursday (Jan. 25, 2007) at his residence.
He was born Sept. 8, 1936, in Elkhart to Pete and Minamae (Young) Mansfield.
He is survived by his two sons, Nelson (Jackie) Whitecotton of Scottsdale, Ariz., and David K. (Connie) Ritchie of Goshen; one daughter, Peggy (Dan) Sturzl of Laona, Wis.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his companion of 15 years, Marguerite “Rita” Hawkins of Elkhart; and three brothers, Victor (Helen) Mansfield of Lakeland, Fla., and Hudson and Donald D. (Mary) Mansfield, both of Elkhart.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Richard R. and Waldo W. Mansfield.
Mr. Mansfield was a machinist and retired from M-3 & Associates. He was a partner with Kel-John Inc. and formerly worked at Whitehall Laboratories. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed working on muscle cars and spending time with his and Rita’s cat.
