Keith Michael Reining, 47, of Kansas City, KS and formerly of Jacksonville, IL died Tuesday, March22, 2016, at Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City, KS.
He was born May 6, 1968 at Ellsworth Air Force Base in Rapid City, SD, the son of Michael K. and Linda L. Jaggers Reining.
He is survived by his parents of Jacksonville; two brothers, Kirk Alan Reining (wife, Lisa) of Heyworth and Kent Steven Reining (wife, Danella) of Bismarck; two nieces; four nephews; several aunts, uncles and cousins; his companion, Anna Adams of Kansas City, MO; and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Donald and Viola Reining, and his maternal grandparents, Elroy and Ruth Jaggers.
Keith was a 1986 graduate of Jacksonville High School and attended SIU at Carbondale where he studied aviation. He was employed in the animal feed business for several years in Springfield, Nashville, and finally Kansas City, KS. With his love of the outdoors, he established Town & Country Lawn Care and Landscaping in Kansas City which he owned and operated for the past 12 years. More recently, he also established KC Pallet Supply serving as its president and manager.
Keith created a trademark appearance in the Kansas City area with his ever present sleeveless work shirts. He had an affinity for western attire and was well known for his signature vest which was worn to everyone’s wedding ceremony. His home reflected his love of the outdoors and nature.
He grew up in Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, west of Jacksonville, and was more recently active in the life of the Church of the Resurrection United Methodist Church in Leawood, KS. He enjoyed restoring antique tractors and old trucks. In his spare time, Keith loved to climb upon his Harley-Davidson motorcycle for a ride with his friends. In his last act of generosity, Keith gifted his organs to benefit others.
