Keith Dawson, age 57 died April 10, 2008 at his home here in Flagstaff. He was born September 7, 1950 at Camp Lejeune North Carolina U.S. Naval Hospital. He started elementary school at Pendeleton, California and also went to elementary school in Williams and Winslow, before coming to sixth grade at Weitzel elementary in 1958. Keith graduated from Coconino High School in 1969.
While he was at Coconino High School he was a member of the state championship football team of 1968, lettered in baseball and football in 1968 and 1969, and prom king in 1969. He then attended Eastern Community College, after which he served in the Marines January 30 1970 until January 29, 1972. Keith graduated from the police academy in 1973. He worked at the Flagstaff Police department until 1981 at which time he transferred to the Flagstaff Fire Department and retired in 2003.
Survivors include his wife, Geneva Dawson, sons, Kevin David Dawson and Zachary Charles Dawson, Daughter Mariann Henkiel, father, Charles Clifford Dawson, sister Patricia Almogene Bryant, and four Grandchildren.
