Keegan James Gallup, 5, of Metamora, IL passed away at 8:15 am on Friday, January 20, 2017 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born on March 15, 2011 in Naperville, IL to Darin E. Gallup and Krista M. Carmody.
Surviving are his parents of Metamora; brothers Cody Walsh and Noah Gallup both of Metamora; maternal grandparents Tom (Colleen) Carmody of Mt. Keegan was in kindergarten. Keegan’s contagious smile could melt the hearts of those around him and he always greeted everyone with a “Hi!” and if you were lucky he would even blow you a kiss. He came into this world fighting and never stopped. He was a true Super Hero and now his super power is flying with the angels. He had no fear and persevered through it all enduring more in his young life than anyone should ever have to in a lifetime.
Keegan touched so many lives in his 5.5 years. If you didn’t know him, you felt like you did as he was seen almost daily being pushed around in his stroller through the neighborhoods. He loved watching Mickey, Jake, Young and the Restless, golf, football and most of all he loved watching the “Pubs”, aka Cubs. He could work that remote! He also loved telling everyone what to do, especially his mommy, daddy and nurses. Most of all he loved snuggling on the couch. In his short lifetime, he fulfilled his dream of meeting Mickey and Donald Duck when he went to Disney World and even got to see the World Series champions play at Wrigley.
