Kayla is survived by her son, Augustus (Auggie) Jack Thieme and his father Douglas Thieme; her mother, Kelli Ann (Souza) Curtis and her stepfather, Joel Lee Curtis; her sisters, Celine Robitaille of New Hampshire and Ashley (Robitaille) Martin of Maine, along with her brother in law, Jared Kyle Martin and her nephew, Damon Grey Martin. She is also survived by her grandmother, Lucia (L’Europe) Robitaille of Rhode Island as well as her aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. She is predeceased by her father, Donald Robitaille Jr.; her grandfather, Donald Robitaille Sr.; and her grandparents Daniel and Celine (Corriveau) Souza.
Kayla was born on September 14, 1991 in North Providence, Rhode Island. She spent the first ten years of her life in Rhode Island, before moving with her family to Maine. She was pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting at San Diego State University. She married Douglas Thieme on September 13, 2013. On November 8, 2012, they welcomed their son Auggie into the world.
Kayla had many interests in life, she enjoyed playing the guitar and singing. She loved to draw, paint and admire art. And she loved days spent on the beach surfing and enjoying the sun. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, and all who knew her.
The family is choosing to have a private ceremony to remember the life of Kayla at a later date.
