Kaye Marie Yates-Taylor, of Lakewood, CO, passed peacefully in her sleep in the early morning hours of May 23, 2019. Survived by children: Sam Taylor, Jr. and Britta Taylor; siblings: Frances Bahl, Anne Miller, Hugh Yates (Loretta), Robert Yates (Judy); sisters-in-law: Judy Yates and Kay Evelyn Yates; former husband, Sam Taylor, Sr.; brother-in-law, Fred Taylor; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Preceded in death by her parents, Frank B. and Mildred Yates; brothers, Daniel and Frank, Jr.; additional extended-family members; and many beloved dogs over the years.

As a fourth-generation Denverite, Kaye was proud of her family heritage of pioneers and settlers. She loved Denver and all of Colorado. She attended St. John’s Catholic Grade School; Cathedral High School (at Basilica of the Immaculate Conception); Pueblo Junior College; University of Denver; and Regis University. She worked for the Bell System of phone companies for most of her adult life, serving as switchboard operator, international operator, marketer, programmer, and manager. After retiring from the phone company, she worked for the City of Lakewood, Department of Parks and Recreation.

Kaye, an avid life-long reader, was well known for her amazing intellect and curious mind. She held a multitude of eclectic interests, including genealogical research; travel near and far; live theater; politics; local, state, national and world events; and social issues and justice.
Dedicated mother, sister, aunt, friend, and neighbor, her thoughtful and loving spirit will be with us always.
