Kaye Huitt Harmon, 77, Statesville, went to be with her savior on July 24, 2022 at Gordon Hospice House after a long battle with cancer.

Kaye was born in Hiddenite NC, July 4, 1945 to the late James Henderson Craig Huitt and Phyllis Miller Huitt. Kaye worked at Hill Haven Nursing Home as a Social Worker until their doors closed in 1998.

In addition to her parents Kaye was preceded in death by her loving husband James “Steve” Harmon.

Those left to cherish her memory include two sons: Keith Harmon (Annette, who was like a daughter and best friend) and Anthony Harmon; granddaughter Alecia Harmon; three sisters Jeanette Johnson (Bill), Sylvia Feimster (Willie), Becky Gaines (Tony) and numerous nieces and nephews.

Kaye was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Troutman where she loved attending bible study and being a part of the Quilting ministry.  She loved the Lord and let her light shine everywhere she went with kind words and a smile.  She was gifted a very beautiful voice and was a long-standing member of the Cantamos Choir created from Via de Cristo.  Kaye enjoyed crafts, painting and most especially vacationing at the beach.

The family would like to thank Dr. Sholar and her staff as well as the Gordon Hospice House and their staff for treating Kaye with compassion, kindness and love.
