Kay Peterson, age 73, passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2011. Born in Corpus Christi, TX, on April 14, 1937, she was the daughter of Sothron Vetters and Vivian Mew Vetters. A resident of Boerne since 1994, she was an active member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, Boerne, TX. where she was an Eucharistic Minister. An Honorary Rotarian, she was a Multiple Paul Harris Fellow of the Rotary Foundation. She was the life long partner of 54 years with husband, John R. Peterson, a retired U. S. Naval Officer and a Centennial Governor (2004-2005), Rotary International District 5840. Preceded in death by her parents, she is survived by her husband, John R. Peterson; devoted and loving daughter, Nancy Ann Smart and her husband, Marvin Smart of Aransas Pass, TX; son, John R. Peterson, Jr. (Mary) of Boerne; grandchildren, Tyler Fleming (Lindsey) of New Braunfels, TX, and John Alexander Peterson of Boerne; sister, Barbara Joan Henderson; and numerous nephews and nieces. The Recitation of the Rosary will be on Tuesday, Jan. 18 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church.
