Kay Purdy, 79, of Anderson, passed away June 19, 2016 at Riverview Hospital, Noblesville, IN. She was born October 6, 1936 in Anderson, and resided most of her life in Anderson.

Kay Graduated from Anderson High School, Herron Art School and Ball State University.

She was a retired elementary art teacher for Anderson Community Schools retiring in 1994 after working for 32 years.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Past Guardian of Bethel 13, Jobs Daughters, Past Matron of the Anderson Chapter Order of Eastern Star # 154. She was active in Bible Study Fellowship, and the Forrester’s.

Kay is survived by her husband, John Purdy, of Anderson, daughters, Lorraine (Bill) Chrisler of Indianapolis, and Rebecca (Bill) Will of Clayton, brother, Bruce Thompson of Anderson, 6 grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren, Lora Albin, Aaron, Jonathon, Walter, Daniel, Abigail, Eric, Adam Will, 2 great-grandchildren, Nathan and Madelyn Albin. She was also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lois and Leonard Thompson.
