Kay Groesbeck, age 77, of Algona, Iowa died on Sunday October 4, 2015 at the Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona.
Kay LuAnn Kern, the daughter of Melvin and Nellie (Lowman) Kern, was born on September 28, 1938 in Algona, Iowa. Kay was a foster parent in Fort Dodge from 1980 – 2001. She loved to play cards, Bingo, read and put jigsaw puzzles together.
Kay is survived by her children, Terry (Sherri) Groesbeck of Mountain Home, AR, Kim Groesbeck of Whittemore and Dean (Missy) Zuetlau of Pocahontas; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; five brothers, Delmar (Joan) Kern of West Union, Dale (Judy) Kern of Claremont, CA, Robert (Jennifer) Kern of Claremont, CA, Frank (Bettie) Kern of Algona and Steve (Cindy) Kern of Monroe; and two sisters, Karen Hardgrove of Algona and Linda Grems and her significant other Henry Ferguson of Algona. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister Opal Bloom; and five brothers, Richard, Martin, Gary, Kenneth and William Kern.
