Kay (Winslow) Kennett, age 82 of Gladwin, passed away on April 4, 2022 at The Brook of Gladwin. Kay was born and raised in Midland MI until meeting and marrying the love of life, Frank Kennett in 1959. They enjoyed 56 years of marriage. They moved to Bay City MI and owned and operated Frank’s Standard Service Station. On December 12, 1966 they loss their first-born daughter, Kaleen, in a tragic accident while raising their 9-month-old daughter, Kellie. In 1967 they bought a lot on Secord Lake and built their cabin.
They enjoyed their weekends and summers at the lake and decided to move there permanently in 1976. Kay operated a beauty salon in their home and made many friends in the process. Kay enjoyed bowling and served as the Secretary and Treasurer of The Gladwin and Beaverton Bowling Association as well as being a Youth Association Coach. Kay was inducted into the Bowling Hall of Fame in 1988. Kay also enjoyed bingo, playing cards, gardening, visiting with the neighbors/ friends and spending time with her family. She took up painting later in life and found out she was very talented. She sold over 70 paintings and gave many to her family out of love.
Kay is survived by her daughter Kellie (Mark) Seward of Gladwin, Mi, sister Ann Dehn, Sanford, MI, brothers David (Mary) Winslow Midland, MI, Dallas (Kathy Compton) Winslow Midland, MI, Doug (Helen) Winslow Midland, MI, Lynn (Maureen) Winslow Lansing, MI, Dean (Mary) Winslow North Ridgeville, OH, Bruce (Sue) Winslow Midland, MI, and Wayne (Cindy) Winslow Midland, Mi, Brother-in-law John (Myrna) Kennett Alma, MI and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Her special niece Claire Winslow will always hold a special place in her heart! She was preceded in death by her husband Frank in 2015, daughter Kaleen, mother and father Willard and Rachel (Kearns) Winslow, mother-in-law Audrey Kennett, brother-in-law Bill Dehn, sister-in-law, Joan Pollock, nieces Denise Dehn and Terri Moeggenberg, niece and nephew Baby Girl and Baby Boy Winslow.
