New Iberia, LA- Kaven Vernon Migues entered eternal rest January 21, 2022, at his residence in Denham Springs, LA

Kaven was a a loving and faithful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will be dearly missed.

Kaven had amazing talent as an artist and enjoyed his time painting, pen and ink, oils, watercolor, and woodworking. Our home is well decorated, and we have sold it to art lovers with many requests he couldn’t get to for the trains.

He took many classes and received two Associated degrees and one Bachelor of Science in Business Management. He worked for the city at the election polls on election days. Designed the company floor plans and charting as a technical business analyst also using his electronics degree at Cox Communications for 24 years. He drew the picture of the Mayor of New Orleans for his office.

Kaven was a great shopper, always picking the best gifts and food for our organic, mostly vegan, gluten free diet.

Kaven designed his kitchen after the flood and had many great artistic ways to do things that were very much enjoyed.

He helped everyone and was loved by everyone he met. His glowing smile saw only good in everyone, and we are very proud of him.

His grandfather, Pastor Reverend Mitless Verret taught him, “Love”, was the way to live. Kaven said, “I love you and I appreciate you always every day!!

His favorite restaurant was Jewish in New Orleans, and he could quote the scriptures very fast impressing everyone.

His love of family and life had him traveling and on the road seeing the finest life had to offer from the beach to the mountains. Mike built the fireworks displays that took up a mile of the beach with the men putting the show on for us to see from upstairs on the beach house balcony. Cars were parked for a mile in streets and Kaven was so proud of Mike because he helped get Mike well from a terminal illness to running his own company.  Thank you, God!

He just loved his family, cooked breakfast for grandchildren and great grandchildren, going out to eat, cracker barrel whatever they wanted, to the movies, everything fun and laughter with love. Jacob always ran in the door straight to Kavens arms. Kaven was so thrilled when he heard our kids will be here soon.

His life was short, but he lived well and did as much as he could. We miss you!!! and love you with all our hearts! You are a child of God and Royalty!

He is survived by his wife Donna Newton Migues of Denham Springs, LA; Sons Joshua Migues of Lake Charles, LA; Nathaniel & wife Taylor Migues of Bush, LA; Step-son Joseph Austin of Ponchatoula, LA; Step-daughter Kristin Austin of Ponchatoula, LA; Brothers Caleb and Kendal Migues of Jeanerette, LA; Eight Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren.
