Katina Faye Mitchell, 49 of Durham, NC passed away on April 18th. Katina was born on January 16, 1974, to J.T. & Faye Mitchell in Henderson NC. She grew up in the Wilton community of Granville County. After graduating from South Granville High School in 1992, she attended Appalachian University and Vance Granville Community College. For the last 20 years, she was employed by Duke University.
Katina loved animals especially her dogs Bella and Ellie.
Katina was preceded in death by her father Joseph Thomas Mitchell, Jr.; grandparents Joseph Thomas and Ida Mae Mitchell and Lee Warren and Virginia Dare Peace. She is survived by her mother Elizabeth Faye Mitchell; sister Kristie Mitchell Wicker; nephew Tyler Mitchell, nieces Peyton and Makayla Wicker; the love of her life Chad Jones, his family Jerry & Wanda Jones, Monica & Billy Williams (Stokes & Lucas), as well as aunts, an uncle, and several cousins.
