Katie Sue Gracie

Kathryn Sue (Katie) Evans Gracie of Sheridan, Arkansas was born August 1, 1964 in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of the late John and Mary Hoy Evans.
Katie died unexpectedly at her home on August 27, 2022 at the age of 58.
She married Terry Gracie on August 30, 1994 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. She was a graduate of Pine Bluff High School. She recently retired from Simmons National Bank after 31 years of service. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Pine Bluff.
Katie took great joy in raising her grandchildren, Ashlynn and Ty. Throughout her life, she enjoyed being outdoors, camping, boating, swimming, and spending time at the lake. Deeply in love, Katie relished time spent with Terry working outdoors at their land fulfilling their dream of a permanent camping site near the lake. Katie was the “go to” person when others tried to recall funny stories and memories and was the first person anyone called when they needed help piecing family history together.
All who knew Katie, were touched by her “take charge” personality in the way she stepped in and cared for those she loved. Katie served as a great source of strength and assisted her mother throughout her father’s lengthy illness. She later welcomed her mother into her home and cared for her in her last years. Alongside Terry, Katie’s most selfless act was raising their grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her father-in-law Billy Lee Gracie and mother-in-law, Peggy Christian Gracie.
Survivors: husband and best friend Terry Gracie of Sheridan; grandchildren Ashlynn and Ty Waggoner of Sheridan; son Jeff (Erin) Waggoner of Sheridan; sister Sharon (Dennis) Ortiz of Las Vegas, NM; brother, Scott Evans of Lewisville, TX; beloved dogs, JJ and Petie and a host of many nieces, nephews, great nephews and nieces and friends.
