Ms. Katie was born October 19, 1933 in Huttig, AR and passed away Saturday, October 17, 2020 in Rayville, LA. She is preceded in death by her, parents, Garland and Sadie DeShazo; brothers, Charlie, Bo, and Robert DeShazo; sisters, Phoebe Foster and Pauline Vaughn; and son-in-law, Maxie Eppinette.
Ms. Katie and her family moved to Rayville, in the early 1960’s. She worked for several years at Baker’s Cafe. In the early 70’s Katie and her husband, George owned “The Polka Dot” here in Rayville. After retiring from the General Motors Corp. She managed the Cottonland Restaurant for Mr. J.L. Cook when she was able, for a number of years she enjoyed buying and selling antiques. She was always spunky and fun and did life her way!
She is survived by her daughter, Sheila Eppinette of Start, son, Guyon Adams and wife, Lori of Rayville; 4-grandchildren, Kayla Eppinette Caskey and husband, Kyle of Northville, MI, Dustin Eppinette of Start, Joshua Adams of Monroe, Evan Blackmon of Jonesboro; 8-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
