Kathy Carley of Altoona, IA, 73, was called home to be with her Savior after an extended illness on June 22, 2021.
Kathy was born on January 8, 1948, in Mason City, Iowa to Marion and Margaret (Esser) Meek. She was a graduate of Des Moines Technical High School and attended the University of Iowa. Kathy married Jim Carley on December 23, 1967. Together they raised two children, Jim and Justin. She worked at Farm Bureau Financial Services for over 20 years before retiring in 2007.
In retirement, Kathy enjoyed quilting, sewing, crafting, traveling, spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren, and was active in her church. She will be remembered by her family as a loving wife, mother and grandmother who blessed them with unconditional love and support. Kathy was a kind and gentle soul who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Kathy is survived by her husband Jim Carley of Altoona, IA; two sons, Jim (Lisa) Carley of Altoona, IA and Justin (Ashley) Carley of Johnston, IA; two grandchildren, Taylor (Logan) Borst and Hunter Carley; and her brother, Christopher (Margery) Meek of West Des Moines, IA.
