      Kathy “Nana” Roper 83, a resident of Gooding, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at her home in Gooding.

     Kathy was born on July 20, 1936 in Gainesville, Texas, the daughter of Paul Bentley and Ora Lawrence Bentley.  She was raised and educated in Gainesville.

     She married Ralph “Jack” Roper on February 29, 1976 in Upland, California.

     She is survived by: two sons – George (Sandra) Jackman of Hope, Idaho and James (Jennie) Jackman of Texas; one daughter – Annette Casanas of Gooding; two sisters – Shirley Whittle of Victorville, California and Donna Hawthorne of Upland, California; 11 grandchildren – Drew (Derek) Holland, Danae (Rich) Gericke, Dylan (Jill), Destiny (Frisco Mireles) and Dustie Jackman, Brandon and Megan Casanas and Lorie Becker; 12 great grandchildren – Aubrey and Maia Holland, Kyle Wooley, Amanda Johns, Layna, Porter, Norah and Ava Jackman; Otto, Ethan and Evelyn Gericke; and Kai Mireles.

     She was preceded in death by: her parents – Paul and Ora Bentley; her husband – Jack Roper; a daughter – Peggy Becker; three sisters – Christine Shaver, Pauline Robinson, Nellie Ince; and four brothers – William, James, John and Truman Bentley.
