Kathryn Murray Hooks, 94, of Newnan, GA died on January 15, 2022, at her home. Kathryn was born in Maiden, NC on September 8, 1927, to the late Rev. Clyde Murray and Pearl Murray. She retired from Shelby (Anthem) Insurance Company in 1995. Along with her parents, Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Hooks; son, Gary Hooks; brother, Rev. Jerry Murray; and sister, Elizabeth Stiffler. Kathryn is survived by her sister, Rebecca Brogdon Almond of Greensboro, NC; daughter, Rebecca Shelnutt; granddaughters, Virginia (Gina) Mealor and Lisa Ragsdale; grandson, Scott Hooks; seven great grandchildren, Joshua Petty, Christopher Petty, Corey Mealor, Becca Gilley, Kaylee Mealor, Sage Hooks, and Nole Hooks; and four great-great grandchildren.
