          Kathryn Miller Bourne

   January 7, 1932 – February 3, 2020

Our mother passed away peacefully on February, 3 at the Heritage Park Care Center. She was born January 7, 1932, in Newton, Utah to Eva Atkinson and Conrad Lorenzo Miller.  She was the 4th of eight children. She Married Dwayne Earl Bourne on Dec 8, 1948.  They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple Dec 8, 1958. Kathryn and Dwayne were blessed with four children, Janet B Carling (Charles) Michael D Bourne (Lorraine), Lance Bourne (Jackie), Todd Bourne (Wendie).  She has 15 grandchildren and 31 great-grand-children and one great-great-grandchild.

Kathryn was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, she worked in the primary and attended relief society, helping with many of their activities. She had a strong testimony and was always willing to help others. Kathryn loved doing genealogy.  Mom and her sister took a trip to Denmark to find more information about their Danish ancestors.  Mom gathered many pictures and information about her relatives and worked closely with her sister, Louise to compile and share genealogy with the family.

She taught swimming lesson for several years. Mom loved to make jewelry and completed many necklaces. Mom also collected many antique dishes and had a large collection of fine dishes.  Dad made many wooden projects for the grandchildren and mom would complete them with tole painting.  Mother was a very good seamstress and made many of my high-school dresses. She was a very talented person.

Mom and dad loved to travel.  As young children Mom and Dad took us boating and camping often.  We all water skied and enjoyed many boating and camping trips with friends and cousins.  We went on many vacations throughout the western states.

After the children were grown, Mom and Dad bought a 5th wheel trailer and traveled with their siblings and friends.  They went on cruises to Europe, toured the North Eastern states went to Calgary and Niagara Falls and later Washington D C area. They loved the out of doors and taught their children to do the same.  They build a cabin in the Uinta Mountains, where we spent many weekends.  We hiked in the summer and snowmobiled and cross country skied and went sledding in the winter. Mom and dad also had a winter home in Beaverdam Arizona.  We rode four-wheelers, went rock hounding, and took many side trips to Snow Canyon, Valley of Fire, Death Valley and other such places.  Mom and Dad had many grape vines and pistachio nut trees growing in Arizona, which were always a treat.   Many precious family memories where created in these places.

Kathryn is survived by one brother, Ellis Miller, husband Dwayne Bourne of 71 years, her four children and all her grand-children, great-grand-children and her great-great-grand son.

Mom is now in heaven reunited with parents, brothers and sisters.    We miss you mom, but know you are in a happier place.
