Kathryn J. Bassett, 69, of Mount Airy, MD, and formerly of Williamsport, PA, died Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Carroll Hospital, Westminster, MD.

   Born October 4, 1942 in Williamsport, she was a daughter of Howard L. and Betty M. (Bloom) Titus.

Kathryn was a 1960 graduate of Williamsport High School. She was a former member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Williamsport, and a member of Davidsonville United Methodist Church, Davidsonville, MD. Kathy loved crafts, and operated her own craft business “Katie Jane Crafts”. She also was part of a bowling league and the garden club in Mount Airy. She helped on the family farm and also at her family’s daycare business.

   Surviving are her husband of 50 years Ronald D. Bassett, four children Michelle (Alex) Venable of New Market, MD, Christine Reiser of Mount Airy, David (Beth) Bassett of Mount Airy, and Jonathon “Jason” (Courtney) Bassett of Smithburg, MD, 10 grandchildren, two brothers Richard Titus and William Titus both of Williamsport, PA, a sister Cindy Larson of Danville, KY, many lifelong friends, and her yellow lab Ellie Mae.
