Kathryn Clarkson (Hooper), 66, of Fairfield, CT, passed away peacefully in her home Nov. 9, with her husband holding her hand and surrounded by those whom she loved.
Kathryn was born in Vermont and moved to NYC in 1972. She loved the City where she worked as a nanny, a shoe sales associate in the World Trade Center, a bartender in the Village and finally as a Media Director of an ad agency. It was in the City where she met Sandy and it was love at first sight for both. They moved to Fairfield to raise Caitlin, Brendan and Amanda. Kathryn loved being a mother and was a second mother to her children’s friends and all the neighborhood kids. Throughout her life, she selflessly put her needs behind everyone else’s. Even as her illness limited her mobility, she touched those with whom she came into contact. Over the last four years, she developed a special relationship with her granddaughter, Parker, and she took great joy in knowing her daughter Amanda is expecting a baby girl this Christmas.
