Mrs. Kathleen Payton Willingham, age 85, of Newnan, passed away Friday, March 13, 2020. Kathleen was born November 20, 1934, in Newnan, daughter of Joe Brown Payton and Nellie Carnes Payton, who preceded her in death. She graduated from Newnan High School, class of 1952, and attended Mercer University. July 4, 1954 she married Eugene Willingham and they were married 65 years. Survivors include her husband, Eugene Willingham; son, Alan Willingham of LaGrange, GA; daughter, Allison Kay Williams (Royce) of Newnan; grandchildren, Jessi Clark, Ben Clark, Trevor Roberts, Thomas Roberts of Newnan and Riley Willingham, Brody Willingham of LaGrange, GA. Also surviving are her brothers, Raymond Payton (Carolyn) and David Payton (Judy), all of Newnan. Kathleen was a member of First Baptist Church since her teens. Kathleen’s whole life was her family! She was a daughter, sister, niece, wife, mother and grandmother and lived each of these roles to the fullest! Valentine’s Day was her favorite time of the year.
