Kathleen “Kay” Waltke, 87, of Bloomington, passed away Saturday, February 27, 2010 at the Bloomington Hospital. Born, September 30, 1922 in Somerset, KY, she was the daughter of Thomas and Melvina (Bray) Ryan. Kay was a 1939 graduate of Springville High School where she was the Latin Champion.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed helping others in her mission work. She enjoyed traveling with her husband Johnnie. Their visits included all six continents and all 50 states. Kay was also a Girl Scout Leader.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years Johnnie G. Waltke, one daughter, Shirley “Ann” Ferling (Ronald F.) of Los Angeles, CA, one son, Dennis J. Waltke (Debrah) of Greenwood, four grandchildren, Rachael E. Waltke of Indianapolis, Aaron J. Waltke, Melissa Kay Ferling, and Douglas Ronald Ferling (Rune Freeman Ferling) all of Los Angeles, CA.
