  • Date Of Death: September 5, 2015

Kathleen Tamara DeWolfe (“Kat”) died at home on September 5, 2015 of complications arising from a prolonged illness due to her battle with alcohol addiction.  She was thirty one.

Born in February 1984 in Amsterdam NY, Kat grew up in the Adirondacks, where she helped her parents in their family restaurant and spent many hours hiking, skiing and riding horses.  Her passion for animals was matched only by her talent for helping them, as shown by the many years she devoted to rescuing dogs, cats, horses, bunnies, parrots, a robin, and any creature requiring protection.  Kat was a born caretaker whose gentle spirit led her to nurture anything in need.  Her radiant smile offered a glimpse of the sensitive artist underneath.

Kat moved to Grand Junction with her family in 1995, where she graduated from Grand Junction High School with honors, pursued studies at Mesa State College, and finished her dental hygiene degree (also with honors) at Colorado Northwestern Community College.  She started her career as a dental hygienist in 2006. In her spare time, she loved gardening, playing the piano, painting, cooking, and playing a mean game of pool.

Kat was the beloved daughter of Barry and Carole DeWolfe of Grand Junction CO.  She is also survived by her fiancé Patrick Denham, Grand Junction CO, sister Sierra (Derek) Conlon, Grand Junction CO, seven aunts, one uncle and eight cousins.
