Kathleen “Katie” Lovece died peacefully at Haven Hospice on July 22, 2016 following a short-term illness. She was born in Barnesville, MN, on July 23, 1921. She was the youngest of seven children of Edward and Victoria McDunn, graduated from Barnesville High and attended North Dakota State University.

Being an Air Force spouse, she moved extensively around the United States and Europe and in November 2010 moved from Mission Viejo, CA, to Orange Park, FL, and has lived at The Allegro Senior Living Center on Fleming Island since August 2011. Having never met a stranger, Katie was involved with numerous resident councils and committees at The Allegro and provided the impetus for resident games, arts & crafts and bingo.

She was predeceased by her first husband Lt. Col. William C. McCamy, USAF, a WWII veteran, who was killed in an Air Force aircraft accident on March 24, 1965, and her second husband, Maj. Stelio A. Lovece, USAF, also a WWII veteran, who died of natural causes on November 20, 2005.

Katie is survived by her sons, Bill (Carol) and Tom; daughters, Sandy Stinton (Bernie) and Barbara Lequeux (Blayne); eight grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces.
