Kathleen Mae Gapinski, age 77, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, October 2, 2022, in Hackensack, MN. Kathleen was born on April 3, 1945, in Minneapolis, MN, the daughter of Gladys (Nelson) and David Schwartz.
Kathleen loved her family and Jesus with her whole heart. She was a devoted follower of Jesus. She relentlessly enjoyed reading her Bible, devotions and journaling daily.
Whatever she was doing, she did with joy in her heart as if “doing it for the Lord and not for man.”
Baking, cleaning, gardening, feeding her critters, cleaning the coop, filling the feeders, canning, sewing, mowing the lawn (falling asleep on the mower) or curling her hair at 3am, Kathy thoroughly enjoyed her coffee along with it all!!
Kathy, “Ma”, mom, Grandma, G-G, was a true servant as she loves volunteering at the Walker Area Pregnancy Support Center no matter what the assignment was for the day. Mostly just being able to visit.
She loved her time at Jack Pine Stables cleaning saddles and tack like no one else could before every important event…. Beginning of the season, Special Olympics, end of the year Showcase, Wounded Warriors or if something simply needed a touch up.
Kathy treasured her time spent most of all with friends and family. Always a smile and lots of laughs. Praising the Lord- arms raised in reckless abandon.
It is her genuine love for all and her silliness we will miss the most.
Kathleen is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gerald Gapinski; sons, Danny Gapinski and a stillborn baby; parents, Gladys and David Schwartz; brothers, Wally (Mary) Schwartz and Donny (“Muff”) Schwartz.
