Kathleen Maguire Tierney, 87, of Little Silver N.J., passed peacefully at home on Thursday, February 3, 2022. Kathy, as she was known, was born February 24, 1934 in South Orange N.J. to Frank and Fran (Cagney) Maguire, the seventh in a line of nine children. She graduated from Marymount College of Tarrytown, N.Y. While at Marymount, she was voted Miss Rockland County and had the honor of opening the Tappan Zee Bridge in New York.
She was devoted to the Catholic Church and the Blessed Mother and until recently, attended the Church of the Nativity in Fair Haven.
Kathy met her husband Ray of 61 years in Monmouth Beach where she spent the summer. Together, they raised five children, residing in Little Silver, Shrewsbury and finally back in Little Silver.
