Kathleen Lawton Kenna of Fountain Hills, AZ passed away on April 27, 2017. Kathy was born in Washington DC in 1941, to Fredrick and Cecilia Lawton, she was preceded in death by her sister Mary Lawton, and Richard Lawton, also of Washington, DC and she is survived in life by her husband Robert Kenna, son Robert B. Kenna, daughter’s Carolyn Karkhoff and Cecilia Shelton and five grandchildren. Kathy attended Immaculata Academy, and graduated from Trinity University with honors in 1965. Kathy was a retired Department of the Army Civilian Personnel Officer. She had an accomplished and recognized career; earning some of the most distinguished awards such as; the prestigious “Order of St. Maurice”, from the US Army Infantry Association. Kathy worked with the US Army Map Service in Washington, Piccatinny Arsenal in Dover, NJ, the Pentagon, and concluded her career at the US Army Infantry Center and School in Fort Benning, GA. Kathy had a passion for spending time with her children and grandchildren, she loved playing bridge, gardening, and was a loyal fan of the Washington Redskins her entire life. Kathy was a devout Catholic who supported, lectured, and volunteered for St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church in Scottsdale, AZ.
