Kathleen Laura “Kathy” Hodge, 63, of Palatka, passed from this life on Wednesday, April 28, 2021, at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville following an extended illness. Kathy was a native and lifelong resident of Palatka and graduated from Palatka Central High School in 1977. She had worked 22 years in the cafeteria at Kelly Smith Elementary School. Kathy was a member of the Palatka Horseman’s Club, the Friends of Dunn’s Creek, and had been involved with the Girl Scouts for over 25 years. She was also a Baptist. Kathy enjoyed horseback riding, camping, fishing at the beach, arts and crafts, and especially enjoyed painting.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Edward Dunklin and Elisabeth May Chronister Dunklin.
Kathy is survived by her husband of 35 years, Fred Hodge of Palatka, 2 daughters, Tiffany Elisabeth Strickland (Natalie) and Kathryn Amber Hodge of Palatka, an adopted daughter, Jo-Anne Maynard of Palatka, a brother, Ricky Dunklin of Atlanta, GA, and 2 grandchildren, Kendrick Gunter Hodge and Nevaeh Elisabeth Howser.
Private family services will be held.
