Katy Spencer passed away on December 1, 2016 in Roswell NM at the age of 80. She was born July 2, 1936 in Durant OK to James and Irene Butler. In the 1940’s moved with her family to Roswell, New Mexico. Married Kenneth Spencer for 62 years. After moving away Katy and Kenneth returned to Roswell in 1995 to care for several family members.
She was a school teacher for many years retiring to be a fulltime home maker. She enjoyed attending church for her love of the Lord. She spent several years canning and always shopping for a bargain. Her pride and joy was caring for others.
Survived by husband Kenneth Spencer, son Gary Spencer and wife Sherry of Glendale, Arizona, daughters Karen Walker and husband Joe of Green Valley, Arizona and Lisa Shear of Dallas, Texas. She has 7 Grand Children and 19 Great Grand Children.
Preceded in death by her father James Butler, mother Irene Butler, brothers Frank Butler, Orrick “Archie” Butler, Billy Butler, sister Beth Stephens, a twin baby daughter and a grandson Anthony Chaves.
