Kathleen Janie Woodshank, 90, of Peru, passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at Illinois Valley Community Hospital. Mrs. Woodshank was born October 15, 1920 in Peru to James C. and Catherine (Potthoff) Carr. She married Erwin J. Woodshank Sr. on January 21, 1941 at St. Joseph Church, Peru.
He passed away September 9, 1992. She was a member of St. Joseph Church, Peru and the Alter Rosary Society. She was a wonderful cook and baker, loved playing cards and was an avid Cubs fan. Most of all she was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She devoted her life to her family and lived life to the fullest. She will be greatly missed by all the lives she touched.
She is survived by her children, Mary Ann Woodshank, Ronald Lee (Michelle), David Paul (Debra) and Ken Duke (Gail) Woodshank of Peru, Erwin John Jr. (Jeanne Aspedon) of Lincoln, NE, Robert Thomas (Mary Ann), Patricia Louise (Todd) Butler and Gladys Marie Woodshank of Phoenix, AZ and Kathleen Sue Samolitis of LaSalle; 17 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Erwin J. Sr and 9 brothers and sisters.
