Kathleen (Lempka) Goracke was born to Ralph and Victoria (Pientka) Lempka on April 25, 1938 on the family farm near St. Mary, Nebraska. She attended Tecumseh Public Schools, graduating with the Class of 1956.
She was united in marriage to Roy Paul Goracke on Feb. 23, 1957 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in St. Mary, Nebraska. To this union six children were born.
They made their home east of St.
She and Bud returned to Weeping Water in 2009 to be closer to family. They were members of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Manley. Kathleen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and above all, a dedicated steward of her faith.
Kathleen passed away on March 20, 2014 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha at the age of 75 years.
She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Roy Paul “Bud” Goracke of Weeping Water, children, Cynthia Craig and husband Mike and Jodene Meisinger and husband Rob of Weeping Water, Gregory Goracke of Omaha, Nancy Mainelli of Lincoln, Jane Perkins and husband Darcy of Avoca, Donald Goracke and wife Juan of Beatrice, grandchildren, Josh Bailey, Deanna Goodwin and husband Jared, Nathan Bailey and wife Marthy, Angela Bailey, Bryan Bailey, Alicia Bailey, Baily Craig, Beau Craig, Chloe Craig, Clare Craig, Kyle Hartman and special friend Bree, Eric Hartman and fiancée Mia, Tina Duncan and husband Johnny, Hannah Hartman, Matthew Faris and wife Lacey, Kate Mainelli, Amanda Karstens and husband Adam, Emma Kirchhoff and husband Brett, Dustin Perkins, Avery Quick and Courtney Perkins, great-grandchildren, Edyn, McKinley, Brayden, Brock, Gus, Easten, Hunter, Henry, Grace, Dayln, Hayden, Vincent, Hazel, Ruby, Alex and Alexis, brother, Nick Lempka and wife Mary Ellen of Tecumseh, sisters, Bonnie Jensen and Emily Schram of Papillion, Mary Goracke of Johnson Lake and Betty Putnam of Lincoln and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Monica Eilers-Wulf, brothers, Emil Lempka and Gene Lempka, sisters-in-law, Margaret Lempka and Rita Lempka and brothers-in-law, John Eilers, Harry Jensen, Norm Goracke, Larry Schram and Harold Putnam.
