September 27, 1945 in Camden, NJ, passed away surrounded by loved ones on September 12, 2022 at her son’s home in Monmouth County NJ.
Kathy was a longtime resident of South Jersey and married for 55 years to the love of her life, Timothy Murtha. Together, they were involved in charitable causes for various non-profit organizations and taught CCD at their local parish for a number of years.
At age 45, Kathy embarked on her life-long dream of opening a retail shop. Secrets, an upscale ladies’ consignment store in Haddonfield, NJ, would operate for 26 years and be recognized by Philadelphia Magazine as a “Best of Philly” in 1997. Growing up as a child in Camden, Kathy dreamed of vacationing at the Jersey Shore. This past summer marked her 39th season at the couple’s beach cottage in Ocean City, NJ.
Kathy lit up a room when she was present with her wonderful sense of style and her feisty, yet good sense of humor. All who knew and loved her will miss her greatly.
In addition to being survived by her husband, she leaves behind her sons, Timothy L., Collingswood, NJ and Patrick J., Fair Haven, NJ; daughter-in-law Pamela Carton Murtha and her cherished granddaughters Finley and Ryder Murtha; sister Francis Lyons Neaton, St. Michaels, Maryland.
