Kathleen Carol (Cooper) Maher entered God’s arms in the early morning hours of August 19, 2013. She was born in Minneapolis, MN on December 18,1936. She graduated from Holy Angles Academy Richfield, MN and later graduated from cosmetology school in Boulder, Colorado. Kathleen married the love of her life, Thomas Loren Maher on May 13, 1968 in Clear Lake, SD and they started their new life together in Colorado. They celebrated forty five happy years. While in Minnesota, Kathleen worked at Honeywell in Minneapolis. When she came to Colorado she worked at Fred’s Steak House in Boulder. She and Tom owned and operated Short Run Stampings in Boulder and later she was a cosmetologist at JC Penny Salon in Boulder. She and Tom retired to Canon City in 1999 where she worked in the lunch room at McKinley elementary and Washington elementary. She enjoyed seeing all the little kids and the great friendships she made. Kathleen had one son, Gary (Tracy) Maher; and three adopted children Barb (Todd) Kuester, Michael (Nancey) Maher and Colleen (Bruce) Eckman; grandchildren, Holly, Ashley, Nicole, Stephany, Brittany and Tylor; and great grandchildren, Ben, Page, Kirsten and Chelsey. Also surviving Kathleen is her brother, Gary Cooper of Oregon; many loving sister and brother in laws, nieces, nephews, many friends, and three special cousins in MN. Her family was the most important thing to her along with her animals. She left all who loved her with beautiful memories and aching hearts. Recitation of the Rosary will begin at 9:30 a.m.
