Kathleen Blando, 66, of Milford, passed away peacefully on November 27. Daughter of the late
John and Rose Miller, she was born on April 9, 1948 in Bridgeport, CT. Kathleen was a stay at
home mom and a PTA president in the past. Although she had many occupations over the years,
she most enjoyed being a co-owner of K&J Clubhouse, a local daycare which she owned
with her close friend, the late Janet Preiss. Years after she had retired still spoke fondly of her
daycare ‘children’ and shared memorable stories with her friends and family. She enjoyed
watching her children and grandchildren play sports at the high school and collegiate level. She
will be remembered for her love of playing board games with her grandchildren and swimming
at the YMCA. During her illness, she greatly enjoyed keeping up with friends and family on
Facebook.
She is survived by her loving husband Joseph Blando, daughters Kristen Blando of Milford,
Kathy-Jo Loewenberg and her husband Dan of Milford, and granddaughters Kailey and Mia
Loewenberg. Kathleen is also survived by sisters Joan Wheeler (Marc) of Southington, Roseanne
Miller (Ann Speller) of Milford, brother David Miller (Anna May) of Madison, brother-in-law
Frank Blando (Joeann) of Stratford, sister-in-law Virginia McGoe (Edward) of Ansonia and
many loving nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sister Mary-Jane Miller.
